Hi, nice to meet you here! I’m Jessica Chiche - a frequent traveler, passionate treasure hunter and newly mom based in Leuven! Maracuya started as a way of sharing my passion for treasure hunting for unique soulful pieces.
After completing my studies of psychology and business economics, I went backpacking for a year in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Living the nomadic life, I often found myself on the treasure hunt in local flea markets, antique shops, craft markets, … Always on the lookout for the ultimate soulful piece with a unique story.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to simplify the treasure hunt by creating an online marketplace that feels just like your local antique market? A platform where vintage owners and seekers can connect, with inspirational moodboards and without ads. This way, only the good stuff remains 😊: Resulting in an one stop shop for interior inspiration and carefully curated soulful pieces! "Maracuyà" means passionfruit in Spanish and originated years later after a few sleepless nights on a holiday in Mexico. I couldn’t shake the idea of what it would mean to create a marketplace for soulful furniture, to finally take the leap and start an entrepreneurial journey.
The aim of Maracuya is to create a positive impact with a circular business model, lowering the ecological impact of furniture buying together and taking treasure hunting to a new level. Let Maracuya be your place for inspiration to mix the old and the new in your interior. Allowing soulful pieces to continue their ongoing journey and completing their story…
